Blogging this wedding is WAAYY over-due, I’m afraid. But, as they say, better late than never!
Meet Leila and Will. They were married over Labor Day weekend, in New Haven, CT. After pre-wedding preparations at The Study at Yale, things moved over to Lighthouse Point Park, where they got married on the beach. The day was very overcast and humid, the skies threatened to open up at any moment. Not good for an outdoor beach wedding! But, as seems to be the trend (luckily) with the outdoor weddings that I photograph, the rain held off the entire day. And the overcast skies made for some beautiful portraits on the beach.
I can truly say that this wedding was one of my absolute favorites. Will is Jewish and Leila is not – but the couple opted for a pretty traditional Jewish wedding, adhering to many Jewish wedding customs. These customs made for a really fun and celebratory day – the tisch, the ketubah, dancing the horah. It was as much fun to watch as it likely was to participate! The carousel inside the Lighthouse Point Park banquet facility, where the reception was held, added the perfect playful and festive touch to the day.
Leila and Will were surrounded by family and friends, everyone special to them gathered in one place to celebrate the start of their journey together. Different cultures and backgrounds all happily came together as one, in perfect harmony. It was truly a magical day, one that I’m proud to have been a part of.
I wish you many, many years of magic and happiness, Leila and Will – all my best to you both!
Great moments captured – a lovely wedding!
